Education Books

From picture books to young adult, there are stacks of children’s books beside my bed, on my desk, and in my living room, and they range from picture books to young adult. I love KidLit in all forms. But most of all, I love reading and writing the stories that share the science in our amazing world.

Online Addiction

(Protect Yourself Online series)

Since 2007, I have led a support group for Denver-area parents of Twice-Exceptional kids. Two of my books were written, in part, as a way for me to learn more to help support this group.

Online addiction is an ongoing struggle for families with Twice-Exceptional children, and I welcomed the opportunity to learn even more about this challenging topic as I researched and wrote the book ONLINE ADDICTION for Brightpoint Press. Gaming, social media, and internet use can be great ways to relax and have fun, but they can also become addictive and unhealthy.

The Waggle Dance: How Bees Communicate

I loved researching this book! Bees are fascinating, and honeybees are able to communicate to their hivemates both the direction and distance of patches of flowers through dance! The book is part of an assessment system, so is not available individually, but writing it instilled in me a love of bees of all kinds. These days, I focus on creating habitat for native bees. I took this photo of three Long-Horned Bees (what a perfect name!) that I found sleeping in a cosmos flower in my garden.
